Danny is an electric, synth and upright bassist, backing vocalist, trumpeter and sousaphone player as well as an arranger, composer, copyist, orchestrator and music director.

​

Since graduating from Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Music (BA) in the summer of 2016, Danny has gone on to play on a variety of stages across the world, performing in various musical theatre productions, function bands and with pop artists.

​

Danny is currently touring with Calendar Girls: The Musical (2024) and has featured on The Colour Purple (UK Tour, 2022), RENT (Hope Mill Theatre, 2020 & 21), Bonnie & Clyde (West End, 2022, Dep), The Cher Show (UK Tour, 2022, Dep), Ghost (UK Tour, 2016, Dep), Saturday Night Fever (UK Tour, 2019, Dep), Honk! (UK Tour, 2018) plus many more productions.

Danny is currently the Music Director, arranger and bassist for the stage show 'Totally 80's' alongside arranging and creating tracks for other one-night touring productions.


Danny arranges and writes for cruise ships, theatre productions, wind bands, big bands and other sized ensembles from across Europe, as well as running his own 17 piece big band, 'The Danny Miller Big Band'.

Danny is a visiting lecturer at LIPA in music theory, music direction, aural skills and composition & arranging.

He also plays for a wide range of original artists as a session musician, arranger and/or orchestrator including Jacobo Serra (Warner Music Spain), Toria Wooff and more.

​

Danny is a Cosmic Ears and Overwater Basses endorsed artist.

Danny is available for transcriptions, new compositions and arrangements upon request. Danny can also provide live band backing tracks and/or click tracks, fully mixed and mastered for your needs.

He also has a large repertoire of music from big band to musical theatre.

Danny has written music internationally for function bands, wind bands, big bands, musical theatre shows and orchestras as well as orchestrating records for commercial release.  See examples of Danny's work below.

REMOTE SESSIONS

For the last few years, Danny has been providing high quality recordings on all basses, vocals, trumpet and trombone from his home studio. Below is a list of equipment which are used in combination depending on the instrument and needs of the client.

The Study in Twelve Suite is in two parts. Firstly, ‘Study in Twelve’: a six piece small band performing in the style of the pre-war British Dance Bands. Of special interest is the extended piano solo written as a jazz improvisation originally recorded for this purpose by the composer.
